So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the things whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:11

Thank you for your hospitality! This summer board members and foreign pastors visited about 15 ALC churches throughout the US and Canada. It was a most wonderful time of worship and fellowship.

Monthly Video Chat Services

With modern technology, monthly services are happening in Pakistan through live video chat with various speakers from the United States. The Foreign Mission hopes to begin doing this in more countries throughout the world in order to share The Gospel message during the times we are unable to travel there.

Russia August 2017

During July and August, Mikhail Krupinov, formerly of Russia who now lives in Canada, led a mission trip to his home country. It is so wonderful to witness how God is now using  Mikhail and his wife Natasha, who know the language and culture, to serve in their home country. Additional information about this trip will appear in the next Where He Leads newsletter.

She died two days later. Please pray for the dear family of Tatyana.

MEET A FRIEND

(Through this section in each Monthly News, we hope you can feel better connected to some of your brothers and sisters in Christ throughout the world.)
Meet Pastor Frank Famiyeh!
Many of you met Pastor Frank at this years convention, or as he traveled to several of our churches. For those who have not met him, this is Pastor Frank!  He and his wife Florence live in Ghana. They have children who are mostly on their own now.  Frank lives in the Western Region of Ghana, a very remote and "jungle" area. After living in the large city for many years, Pastor Frank felt called to serve in the small bush villages. Our Central Board approved and blessed Pastor Frank into the Federations ministerial roll this summer, giving Him blessing to travel, preach, and teach in various countries around the world including his home continent of Africa.

September Update

Togo

God's Peace!

It is with great pleasure that I am sending you this report on the seminars the Lord led me to conduct in Togo.

Throughout the 4-day seminars we reviewed our previous lessons (Romans Chapters 1 to 8 ) taught by Pastors Bob Maki, Ansten Tretten and myself last February. This was to ensure that the pastors' memories on these very essentials of the Gospel were refreshed and properly understood for their own spiritual strengthening and preaching. As usual, the pastors were full of appreciation for the regular FM Sponsored seminars which continue to be of immense help to them and their congregations, by extension.

They also expressed their appreciation to the Central Board for giving the FM the green light to appoint me a full-time missionary to the churches in Africa and elsewhere. They circled around me and prayed that the Lord would endue me with greater strength and power for the work for which He has called me.

In His service,

Pastor Frank

South Africa

Please continue to prayer for the church here in South Africa that the Saving Gospel will continue to be preached and more souls can be saved

   Other Highlights of the Month

* Bibles have been sent this month to Pakistan and Togo from the Bible Fund

* Sunday School book printing has been supplied to South Africa with more help in other countries to come in the next few months.

* The Emergency Medical Fund has helped a mother who needed a D&C after a miscarriage in the Philippines. This fund also provided aid for two other people who were seriously ill in the hospitals.

* The Spruce Grove Sunday School provided an extra love offering for the orphan children under the care of Pastor Fredrick and his wife Mary in Kenya.  They will now have food for three months! This blessing came just at the right time, as their food had run out!  These ten children have only one regular sponsor, whose recent support was then able to purchase the badly needed shoes and clothes pictured.  Why is there children without support? The pastors say that these starving children show up on their doors, and they as Christians must help out. These are hard situations, but God knows and is their provider!

* Substantial donations from individuals have been received to begin pig farms for pastors we work with in Africa.  We are so thankful, as with this help the pastors will Lord willing, be able to provide for their own livelihood going forward.  Funds for these types of efforts are derived ONLY from individuals who earmark their donations for said purposes.

The Foreign Mission fully understands that nothing can be accomplished except that God through His Holy Spirit would move His children to help in their individual capacity.  We certainly give all Honor, Praise, and Glory to God.  Items are put here only so you can see the various ways that you can help in the Lord's Vineyard, even if you cannot leave your home! Prayer is of top importance of course!

 Prayer & Praise

>  A big thank you to all who volunteered at the Foreign Mission table at the convention.

>  Please make the Pastors and Lay Preachers in your congregation aware that your Foreign Mission needs additional pastors willing to go share the gospel throughout the world.  Please pray that God would put an urgency into the hearts of the pastors, and that God would call them into the mission field.

>  Pray that the Sunday School children world wide would have qualified Sunday School teachers, and the materials needed to study from. "train up a child."

> We are thankful that several of our loved ones and pastors from overseas have sent notes saying they are in prayer for our people affected by the hurricanes in TX and FL.  It is always nice to hear from prayer warriors around the globe.
