So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the things whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:11

ALC of Guatemala Annual Convention
Held on June 2-4

A wonderful time in the fellowship around God's Holy Word has just been completed in Guatemala.
About 175 people were in attendance, including a few that have never come to the church before.  One of those has attended a service again already.  We pray God would add His blessings to the Word that was spoken.

During this time,  the Guatemalan church members made the trip from The ALC Zacapa and ALC Piedras Azules congregations to gather together in Juan Ponce, which is the newest of the three congregations.   The annual convention is rotated between Zacapa and Juan Ponce.   Some year it would be nice if a larger group from the USA joined them at their convention to encourage them!

Scott Niemitalo, the FM Board Member who is responsible for Guatemala for the FM, went and preached at the services.  Scott and his family served in other ways as well.  The local pastors did much of the preaching.  Many youths were gathered as well, for which we are very thankful!

MEET A FRIEND

(Through this section in each Monthly News, we hope you can feel better connected to some of your brothers and sisters in Christ throughout the world.)
Meet Salomon and Mary!
We are so pleased that Pastor Salomon and his wife Mary will be joining us at our annual convention in Esko, MN this year!  Mary is one of the Salguero children. It was their father who first contacted the ALC after he found a tract on a train so many years ago! Salomón Archila, her husband, has served faithfully in the ALC congregations in Guatemala for so many years!

The month of  May has been very hot as the temperatures soared to 42-47 degrees centigrade ( 107-116 F) . High humid weather conditions. Terrible heat wave is still sweeping this part of the state.

I am planning 2 days meetings at the Tribal areas soon. Two days pastor's conference and two days open meetings. Its going to be wonderful.

When you come next time, I can assure you that you will all enjoy the ministry and the stay over there as well. I will see that your accommodation will be on the Hill top. Please allot  3 days for the ministry over there. I am sure that it's going to be a memorable trip you ever made in India.

I have ministered in about 20 places in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka in April and May months.Travelled about 15000 kilometers. (9,300 mi) By HIS Mercies my health is very much fine.

In the Tribal areas the topic I am dealing Christ in the OT. So far dealt with Genesis, Exodus and Leviticus. From the NT Discipleship  apart from regular NT Evengelism and the Great Commission.Very fruit full work God is enabling. I praise the Lord, and Thank  you  so much.Your burden really enables us to carry out this Meaningful ministry.

I have many more things to discuss regarding this training program. I will discuss when you visit in  January-2018.So, Sir kindly allot 3 days in your Itenary for the wonderful ministry awaiting at the Tribal pastor's area. I can give you the plan once you finalise the Itenary.

Kenya

A complete water project has been donated to the Orphanage  that is under the supervision and care of Pastor Fredrick and his wife Mary in Kenya.   Why this project?  To save the young girls and boys from having to go a long way into the woods and down to the brook to collect water in pails which they carry on their head.   The woods are a place where many girls in Africa get raped.  This project could potential save many such incidents over the years.  Since it rains nearly every day in this particular area, water collection gutters are added to the roof, and the water is piped into a large water tank.    This tank will be slightly elevated and the water will be easy to draw! Your FM Administrator is getting regular updates on the progress of this project, as is the practice for all projects that are carried out!

We are so thankful that the children in the Hockinson WA ALC donated half of the money needed, and the other half was donated by a young man who came on a mission trip to Kenya with us!

   Other Highlights of the Month

A concrete floor at a church in the Philippines was made available through a generous donor through the FM Earmarked funds system.

This same donor also provided for a roof on a very poor persons home to be rebuilt after it was destroyed in a storm in the Philippines.

BIBLES for Pakistan!  We were so surprised that a total stranger from Rhode Island, USA donated to our empty Bible fund allowing us to send Bibles once again!  God is good!

* Orphans at Pastor Fredrick's Children’s home received some funds for food and sanitation supplies, again from a private donor.

* Bibles were also sent to Kenya for the Orphan children.

* The Emergency Medical fund helped a poor lady in the Philippines who needed treatment for chest issues.

* Also, in Kenya, the son of the man who donated his land for the church we dedicated last year, was provided emergency hospital care through this fund.

The Foreign Mission fully understands that nothing can be accomplished except that God through His Holy Spirit would move His children to help in their individual capacity.  We certainly give all Honor, Praise, and Glory to God.  Items are put here only so you can see the various ways that you can help in the Lord's Vineyard, even if you cannot leave your home! Prayer is of top importance of course!

 Prayer & Praise

> Please be in prayer for the services and meetings at the 2017 Annual ALC Convention.   Specifically pray for the ministers meetings, the general delegates meeting, and the FM delegates meeting.  Most of all, that the Word of God would be preached in Truth and Purity.

> The Foreign Mission is thankful to be able to be part of the Saturday afternoon 2 PM service.  We also will have a information table and concession stand during the entire weekend.  We look forward to seeing and speaking to you there!

> Pray for safe travels for our friends coming from abroad to the convention. We will have guests from Guatemala, India, and Ghana.   Some of these will be arriving in June already.

> Our dear Brother, Matthew Niemela,  who is currently serving independently in the Lord’s mission field, shared an email with many of us on June 8th from his mission post in Liberia.   We are thankful for what the Lord is allowing Matthew to do in that country, and for this prayer. (which was part of that email) Let it be all of our prayers!

"Lord, teach me to love with gentle compassion, sympathy, and true wisdom, as You are sending more and more of Your lost sheep to me. Let my hands be blessing hands. Let my words be Spirit-led, Words in season to the weary. Let my heart be tender, big enough to encompass the hordes of troubled ones I meet daily, soft enough to break over the pain and lostness of another. Let my eyes be open to see another's need, my ears listening to discern the cry in the midst of the bravado and laughter of the Lost. Let Thy Spirit of Wisdom and Knowledge rest upon me in such measure that men will know Jesus as His Spirit works through me. Lord, deny me not this prayer for Jesus' sake, I pray. Amen”
