THE FOREIGN MISSION MONTHLY NEWS UPDATE FOR APRIL 2018

Guatemala

On February 27th, Scott and Karen Niemetalo, Steve and Jackie Wuori, and myself arrived in Guatemala with plans to share the Word of God with the Christians there. My prayer was the same as Pauls’ when he wrote to the Christians at Corinth. “And I brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ and Him crucified.”...

Togo/Ghana

Two things struck me as we conducted our daily bible studies with pastors and congregation members from surrounding areas gathered at three separate churches in Ghana and from approximately ten villages gathered at one place in Togo. First, there was a great desire to learn of salvation and second, there were signs of living faith amidst the people in both countries...

MEET A FRIEND

(Through this section in each Monthly News, we hope you can feel better connected to some of your brothers and sisters in Christ throughout the world.)
Meet Pastor John Feroze

Pastor John Feroze is a very active Pastor in Pakistan.  He currently distributes many Bibles for us in that country where they are needed so badly.

He also is now participating in a Bible study that we hold Bi-Weekly via Google Hangouts.

We look forward to many more Studies with this Pastor, and hopefully will be going to Pakistan in the months or years to come to share the message of the Gospel with those that are ready to hear it in that country!

God's Peace. Please share with God's children, about the need of transport to reach our villages to preach the word and make Gospel services in the villages. As I have an old motorbike it often stops on the middle of the way, so some times I have to leave it there, and go by walk. And I can't afford car all the time, only when it is too long and necessary, but it is too expensive and hard for us to meet the cost. So motorbike is the cheapest transport, one brother can travel with me and also. With one litre petrol  (one doller--IRS 65/-) can travel for 50 to 60 kilometers. Please pray for our ministries. Pastor MP.
(3 other pastors also are in need of a bike for even more dire circumstances.)

Kenya

God's peace and blessings. I greet you in Jesus name. We finished building the Chula church.  May God Bless the Donors.
Pastor Fredrick.
(see picture below)

One of our ALC USA churches has donated for church roofs! We are so thankful Chula and Shamoni Churches in Kenya have received metal sheets to complete the roof system of their church. It is best that the congregations put their own resources into the building and we only help finish it. This way they develop more of a feeling of ownership of their own church.  $450 to $750 per church allows the congregation to have shade from the hot sun, and to keep dry during the frequent rains.  Other churches are already in the pipeline for roofs!

   Other Highlights of the Month

> Bibles were given out thanks to your donations to the Bible fund in Rwanda, which is a country that has suffered so greatly in recent decades and where much poverty still exists.

>  The young boy in Africa who was near death from Cholera is now doing well thanks to God!  Your donations to the Emergency Medical Clinic with never be forgotten by him or his family.  Cholera is almost sure death without treatment.

The Foreign Mission fully understands that nothing can be accomplished except that God through His Holy Spirit would move His children to help in their individual capacity.  We certainly give all Honor, Praise, and Glory to God.  Items are put here only so you can see the various ways that you can help in the Lord's Vineyard, even if you cannot leave your home! Prayer is of top importance of course!
O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Psalm 107:1

 Prayer section:

>  Pray for conditions to improve in so many countries for Christians.   The below article was in Newsweek.

The persecution and genocide of Christians across the world is worse today “than at any time in history,” and Western governments are failing to stop it.
“Not only are Christians more persecuted than any other faith group, but ever-increasing numbers are experiencing the very worst forms of persecution,” the report said.
The report examined the plight of Christians in China, Egypt, Eritrea, India, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, North Korea, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria and Turkey over the period lasting from 2015 until 2017. The research showed that in that time, Christians suffered crimes against humanity, and some were hanged or crucified. The report found that Saudi Arabia was the only country where the situation for Christians did not get worse, and that was only because the situation couldn’t get any worse than it already was.
