Please pray for your Foreign Mission board as they serve in the Lord's Vineyard, both in making   leadership decisions,  and as they Go in to all the World to Preach the Gospel.  Foreign Mission Operation Notes:  > THANK YOU to the National Sunday school for donating money which will be used for Children's Sunday School books that will be distributed around the world. >The Foreign Mission annual meeting was held in late September. Thank you Plymouth MN ALC congregation for hosting us.  The below items are just a few of the developments from decisions made at that meeting. >Your board has requested the administrator to visit the ALC churches for enhanced communication.  Also, if  you are hosting special services or events, please feel free to contact us and we can provide you with presentation materials. >Due to the response of the people to the gospel in Haiti. The mission board has agreed to take 2 trips back to Haiti in the next 12 months. > Pastor Frank Famiyeh of Ghana will be traveling to visit the Nigerian ALC Churches in the near future.  > Plans were made to continue service to many other countries previously visited. We understand that we plan, but God decides!    > Much other discussion was had by the FM Board, and to our great pleasure and with thankfulness to God, the meetings were very pleasant as the board was in full unity in all the major decisions! God is good.   Psalm 133:1Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.   From South Africa:  In a place called Maskiet, This man with me (above) has just being released from prison after 20 years for murder. We shared the gospel together, and he found peace in his heart after hearing that his sins are forgiven in the name and blood of Jesus Christ. Even if one sinner repent there will be joy in heaven. Mphahlele From Ghana:   Dear Bob and John,   God' s peace!   Your report about your mission trip to Haiti has really refreshed my spirit.  I thank God for giving you the courage to 'venture' into Haiti with the Living Water to quench thirsty souls, and am even more thankful for how the Spirit moved hearts to receive the message.  I wonder how far from wrong anybody could be if he ruled Haiti as capital of world voodooism, and what a place to take the Saving Gospel of Christ!  I can't wait to preach the Gospel there too.  Bravo, guys, and may the Spirit continue to lead you to where even angels fear to thread.   Thanks.  In Christ, Frank Famiyeh   Support options  Email or click on the Donate link above for regular support options. You are welcome!  Click here > Class number 20 of the mission training is currently happening.  You can join the next class if you desire by emailing foreignmission@comcast.net        Prayer and praise >   We are so very thankful the Pastor Bob Maki is well on his way to full recovery from the illness that he had which started in Haiti.  Here is a note I just received from Bob Maki:        My dear brothers and sisters in the Lord.   I want to thank all of you who remembered me in prayer to our Heavenly Father when I was in the hospital in very serious condition. John Routsala and I been in Haiti for a short mission trip.  In the 25 years I have been in the mission field, I have never gotten sick on or after a mission trip. But we are frail and things can happen very quickly despite the precautions we take. While in Haiti I wasn't feeling real well. My stomach had been bothering me and at times I felt light headed. When I got home I was really feeling sick and I thought maybe I had the flu. My dear wife insisted I see the doctor, which I did. The doctor admitted me to the hospital immediately. Both my kidneys had stopped functioning, I was 80 percent dehydrated. I had a severe blood infection and a urinary track infection along with other problems. I was much worse off than I thought and if I didn't see the doctor when I did, today I might be but a memory.  God still has plans for me and I am thankful that the team of the FM picked up the slack especially through the efforts of John R. and the FMB meeting in Plymouth,Minnesota went well while I was in the hospital and the FM trip to SA is going well wth Pastor Frank Famiyeh, Mathew Niemela, Julie Matson and Melody S.(some of whom are still in transit) We are all the body of Christ and God wonderously gifts us and utilizes us for his purpose. If one member is hurting, God all the more stregnthens the other members, We work together as one in the Lord Jesus Christ, not as individuals in self,  always raising Him up as we go forth in the mission field bringing forth the saving Gospel to the lost and dying and encouraging the fellow travelers along the pathway that leads to eternal life. Check back for more 2016 trips!  "DEMONSTRATION OF THE SPIRIT AND OF POWER"     1 Cor. 2:4-5 By Pastor Bob Maki:  When FM pastors, John Ruotsala and Bob Maki were led to go to Haiti on an exploratory trip, we were filled with much apprehension, but went with faith not knowing  what awaited us. Most everything we had heard about Haiti had been negative. Haiti  being very poor, dirty, barren, violent, much lawlessness,  thriving voodooism, and the  country had been devastated by an earth quake. Why would we go there and expose  ourselves to all those dangers? For several years the FM has been communicating with  and sending spiritual material to a Lutheran Pastor,named  Julian from central  Haiti. Over the years his plea has been "please come to Haiti and teach us". We arrived Thurs. pm 9/10 in Port au Prince and stayed over night. The next morning Pastor Julian met us with our rental car and we drove the 3+ hours to central Haiti where about 25 pastors and church leaders were waiting. It was at a village church they referred to as country side because of the lush green vegetation and  the closeness of the mountain range and the mountain fed river running by. BEAUTIFUL!  For most of the way the roads were new because of the UN and USA efforts to rebuild Haiti after the earth quake and only the last few miles the road was rough to the village.  The people are primarily farmers growing all their produce and raising their own animals for meat. The reception we received by the people was over whelming. There were big smiles on faces and welcomes voiced in French or Creole languages. We began Friday aft. with a service. At the services there were a little over 100 people ,equal number of men and women, and for the seminars there were 25 to 30. Everything spoken was translated and you could see the hearers paid close attention. After every session, Pastor Julian would come to us with many questions and wanted that we would "please teach him" he wants to learn. The seminar teachings were on the basic doctrines of Christ. The Spirit moved mightily among us near the end of the Sunday afternoon session. The teaching had been on the works of the Holy Spirit and was spoken of when Jesus appeared before his deciples on that 1st Easter night, and said"Peace be onto you. As my Father has sent me so send I you. Receive ye the Holy Ghost. Those whose sins ye remit, they are remitted. Those whose sins ye retain , they are retained." Jo:20  You could feel the Spirit moving in hearts. Many stood up and began to ask, "How can our sins be removed from us? How do we confess our sins?"  Confession is not taught in an exacting manner. We were led to say, "if you have sin which you know and trouble you, freely come forward and  unburden your heart to Pastor Julian, Pastor John and I will then lay our hands upon you and assure you in the Name and Blood of Jesus to believe all your sins forgiven." One women stood up and said, "this is a hard thing to do", and sat down .Over 20 seeking souls came forward, including the women who questioned and sat down, and unburdened their hearts We as the Ambassadors of Christ were able to bless them with the forgiveness of their sins. There was much joy and lives were transformed. After the session, Pastor Julian rushed to tell us that many confessed sins that were never mentioned or preached about. How can that be? .....continued next column Reports of the Field:  Pastor Dennis Hilman and his wife Marilyn were in Guatemala for much of the month of August.  There they served in all three of the ALC churches as well as assisted Pastor Giovanni with other ministry obligations.  The timing of this trip was especially good as full time missionary Ryan Ruotsala was called to serve in the USA during this same period of time.  We are thankful for this missionary couple and all that serve in the Lord’s Vineyard worldwide.  A Note from Pastor Emmanuel Julian (Haiti) Reverend Ruotsala Greeting to you in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ,The Supreme Chief of the church ! We haven't word to express our gratitude of thanks to you and Reverend Maki,please receive our lovely thanks that is from deep in our heart.your teaching touches their heart,those who lived in concubinage have repented and we will have wedding so soon in November. We preach Jesus Christ and His righteousness. The Holy Spirit is the one who searched the hearts of the hearers and and allowed that light of Jesus to shine with in that heart. The spirit is the one to reveal the sin.  After the evening service, Pastor Julian was delayed in coming to us. A little later, he excitedly approached us saying that 4 of the women who had repented that afternoon, asked him to please marry them this month. By God's strength, they would not have intimate relations with the man they are living with,but not married to, until after they are married.  We clearly saw the fruits of repentance and witnessed the fruits of the Spirit. John and I rejoiced in the Power of the Spirit. Something neither one one of us have seen in that number for well over 40 years in the USA. How we pray that God would allow these latter day rains to fall on every one of us.  When we were leaving, every one was pleading, "please continue coming to teach us God's word. Endeavoring to obey the Word of our Lord...Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.  107th Annual Convention "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:17 This was the theme verse at this years annual convention held in New York Mills, MN. Thank you Spruce Grove congregation for hosting and all those who worked hard to make this possible. It was a wonderful weekend of messages from God's Word and fellowship with the believers. For those who missed The Foreign Mission presentation on Saturday here is a link. This explains the where, why, what and who of your Foreign Mission.  Have you been on a trip with the Foreign Mission and have picture of a group that does not appear in the slide show? We would love to add it! Please email it to foreignmission@comcast.net  Please pray for wisdom as The Foreign Mission communicates with new countries. As seen below, requests come often and the FM communicates for a long period of time before stepping forward.  God is good all the time!!  My brother John, Please, come to visit us (Rwanda )!! It will joy as you will share the Gospel to Rwandans.  Is any plan about that visit? God bless you and God bless the America. In Christ, Jean Claude  What does the Foreign Mission do when they are not overseas?  The Foreign Mission administrator, his wife, and our Youth Leader had a blessed time with various church visits in the USA and Canada this summer. Thank you to each congregation that hosted us.  Ryan Ruotsala, who rarely leaves Guatemala, will be the guest speaker at the Watersmeet Youth Camp hosted by the Ironwood ALC. He will also be speaking on July 30th at the Bible Camp held at Camp Lahti., as well as visiting the Negaunee ALC for a FM presentation August 2nd.  Hopefully after these events he can finally have some very much needed rest in Ironwood.  Dennis Hilman and Marilyn spent time in Watertown and Lake Norden, South Dakota, doing presentations and visits about the Mission, as well as preaching! They are going to Guatemala in August before leaving for an extended time in India in September.  Would you help us out? Guatemala Annual Convention! Did you know there is an annual ALC Convention in Guatemala? The 3 ALC churches joined together in June. Gathering around God's Word for services, singing and fellowship. The community was also invited to attend. Some dates are still open currently. > The Foreign Mission will entertain any invitations to hold their fall FM meetings and services.  These take place as near Oct. 1st as possible but the exact weekend can be flexible.   Prayer and praise >Please be in prayer for the 2015 Annual ALC Convention.  > We are happy to report that Simeon is going much better! Many of you as well as the Kenyans, have helped to pay for his medical bills in Kenya. For this we are all very thankful! We praise God for His healing and pray that he continues to recover.
